You are also welcome to drop by during the scheduled hour and I will try to squeeze you in. Other times and places are also available by appointment. Please contact me if you cannot make one of the regular scheduled times. Every student is required to meet with me during office hours at least once during the semester.
By trade both a writer and a photographer, Benjamin Swett has published four books combining photographs and text including Route 22 and New York City of Trees, which won the New York City Book Award for photography. Swett’s recent essays on photography, ecology, architecture, history, and family have appeared in Cabinet, Fiction, Prism International, Salmagundi, and Orion, and his photographs are in private, corporate, and public collections including the Museum of the City of New York. Swett was a writer and photographer for the New York City Parks Department for thirteen years and has taught writing at City College since receiving his MFA in Creative Writing there in 2019. In addition to his job as a writing instructor he teaches photography at Wave Hill in the Bronx and in online workshops.
